EastWest Hollywood Strings Gold Edition 발표됐습니다. (String VSTi)
스트링VSTi로 유명한 EastWest의 야심작 Hollywood String Gold Edition이 발표됐네요. 다이아몬드 버전이 1495달러인데 비해 gold edition은 795달러 (599유로)라고 합니다. 다이아몬드 버전에서 16bit음원만 포함된 것이 gold edition이라고 합니다. bow-change legato와 Divisi Mic 음원은 제외가 됐구요. DVD로 제공한다고 하네요.
LASS가 괜찮긴 한데 빠진 악기도 있고 워낙 비싸서 hollywood string도 꽤 괜찮지 않을까 하는 생각이 듭니다.
뭐 가요에 백킹용으로는 황성제씨가 즐겨쓰는 에디롤이 여전히 괜찮은거 같긴한데 멜로디라인 살리려면 리얼스트링 하나쯤 있으면 좋을 거 같아요. EastWest의 예전 제품들은 리버브를 뺄 수가 없어서 다른 악기랑 잘 뭍어나지가 않기 때문에 가요에는 좀 안맞았는데 이번 제품은 어떨지 모르겠네요. 디버브를 쓰면 톤이 많이 변하잖아요. 그래도 영상음악 하시는 분들은 지름신 ㅎㄷㄷ할 듯 합니다.
아래는 EastWest Hollywood string의 음원 데모입니다. 다른회사도 다 그럽니다만 보나마다 SSL같은 걸로 믹싱하고 그랬겠지요. OTL 소프트웨어만으로 이정도 퀄리티 낼 수 있다면 당신은 능력자. 소리를 들어보니 리버브는 왠지 여전할거 같네요. 그래도 브라스 계열의 음색이 많이 좋아진거 같아요.
